ACE ASAP Program Highlights
Buffalo State, SUNY, and state representatives, including New York State Senator Paul Ryan, gathered on the Buffalo State campus on October 22 to celebrate two new SUNY-supported programs that have proved to significantly improve degree completion rates, particularly for underrepresented students: Advancing Completion through Engagement (ACE) and Advancing Success in Associate Pathways (ASAP).
The programs offer wraparound services that help cover the cost of textbooks, groceries, transportation, and child care in addition to comprehensive personalized advisement and career development services. The ACE and ASAP programs expanded to the SUNY system in spring 2024, supported by a historic demonstration of state-level support championed by Governor Kathy Hochul in the $75 million SUNY Transformation Fund and supplemented by private grants. Currently more than 4,200 students are enrolled in SUNY ACE and ASAP programs across 25 SUNY campuses; Buffalo State has one of the highest enrollment classes, with 191 students.
