Examines the historical and socio-cultural significance of citizenship, social justice, social justice movements, poverty, and diversity, and the development of skills to solve local and global problems. Curriculum enhances the students’ preparation for careers in government, non-profits, law, politics, health, and social planning.
Admission Requirements
Acceptance Criteria: a minimum GPA of 2.0.
Learning Outcomes
Students will:
1. describe the historical socio-cultural significance of citizenship, social justice movements, and advocacy.
2. identify steps needed to address a social injustice.
3. explain the impact of social justice advocacy on individuals and communities.
4. examine the impact and benefit of diversity for individuals and communities.
5. analyze micro, mezzo, and macro policies for social justice impact.
