Buffalo State, AnsariSaxon, and Starring Buffalo to present 'In the Heights' this November

Tickets are now on sale for a staged concert version of the hit musical In the Heights, a collaboration among the Buffalo State University Theatre Department, AnsariSaxon Productions (co-founded by associate professor Naila Ansari Carbonell Catilo and lecturer Karen Saxon), and Starring Buffalo.

“This is what theater and community are all about: creating opportunities, building relationships, and showing students their dreams are attainable,” said Ansari Carbonell Catilo. “Through this collaboration, they gain experience and connections that can shape their futures. Our organizations have a responsibility to give back to the community that supports us. By working together, we strengthen Buffalo State’s longstanding tradition of meaningful engagmement through the arts.”

The production, which will be directed by Matthew B. Cullen with music direction by Saxon and choreography by Ansari Carbonell Catilo, will give Buffalo State theater students the opportunity to perform alongside Broadway actors, Buffalo actors, and area high school students for four performances in the Warren Enters Theater over the weekend of November 13-15.
