Celebrating Our New University Name

The Buffalo State University community gathered on campus Tuesday, January 31, to celebrate the institution’s new formal designation as Buffalo State University. The spirited event featured remarks from Buffalo State President Katherine Conway-Turner and student Dominique Parke, along with a spectacular balloon drop. Buffalo State formally changed its name from Buffalo State College to Buffalo State University in January 2023, following new guidelines from the New York State Board of Regents.
