Often a student enrolled in a major other than performing arts has great enthusiasm and interest in theater and dance. The Theater/Dance minor is an excellent way to enhance your education and support your interests. Graduate schools and employers will see your engagement in the arts as your development of crucial 21st century skills including collaboration, research, analysis, creative problem solving, project management, and meeting deadlines. The minor is customizable to your interests on stage or behind the scenes.
The minor requires 19 credits.
Admission Requirements
Any matriculated student in good academic standing may declare this program.
Learning Outcomes
Students will:
1. Analyze history and impact of dance and/or theater clearly
2. Demonstrate basic dance and/or acting techniques
3. Compare key figures, movements, and developments in dance and/or theater.
4. Develop the ability to perform a backstage or onstage role confidently
