About the Program

The Advanced Certificate in Public Management provides students with an advanced course of study at the graduate level concentrating on the conceptual, technical, and professional education and skills required for administrative and leadership positions in the public sector. The program, totaling 15 credit hours, includes three required core courses (9 credit hours) and two electives (6 credit hours) taken from Public Administration (PAD) graduate courses. Transfer credit may be given for one or both of the elective courses.

Admission Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) or a master's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale).

  • A brief written statement of the applicant's professional or educational goals and how a graduate certificate in public management supports these goals.

  • Successful review by the Admissions Committee.
