Educational Leadership: Professional Administration, C.A.S.

Admission Requirements

1. Evidence of a valid permanent or professional certificate in classroom teaching, pupil personnel service, or administration that was issued by any state or national government (submit one copy with application).
2. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
3. Three recommendation forms that attest to applicant’s potential as an educational leader. Recommenders’ email address must be entered in the online application. References must be from the following: Superintendent, District Office Personnel, Union President or designee, Principal or Assistant Principal, University faculty or administration, or other non-school personnel
5. Resume including a description of outcomes from positions held.
6. Participate in an interview providing evidence of 3 years teaching experience or successful leadership potential for PreK-12 schools. You will be asked to describe your interest in P-12 school leadership as well as leadership experiences you have had. Interview will include completing a writing sample.
7. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written English language skills.

Each admission requirement is scored according to criteria on an evaluation rubric. The total score is compiled so that any one requirement will not preclude admission, but an overall snapshot of potential student success will be considered.
